Obama on the Resurrection

The Resurrection is the High Holy Day in Christendom. It is the kingpin on which Christianity turns. It is denied by the culture and now days minimized by most churches with Easter egg hunts and images of bunnies.

Many folks believe Obama to be a Christian. The typical claim for Obama’s Christianity is that he was in Jeremiah Wright’s Church for 20 years. That won’t wash however. Unfortunately Wright’s Church teaches what is called Black Liberation Theology. It is a bigoted, racist teaching which preaches blacks should hate whites, whites are the cause of all the black community’s problems, etc.

If you have heard Wright speak, he uses God’s name in vain from the pulpit in a most vile way screaming  “G- -D – – m  America!” That is not Christian!

Then there is the unarguable fact that Obama’s stepfather was a Muslim hence Obama was raised Muslim and attended Muslim schools–that makes Obama a Muslim. Unlike Christianity, in Islam you are born what your father is–Muslim. While Obama was not born into Islam, when his mother remarried Obama was raised Muslim. The Qur’an is clear that those who convert are to die if they do not recant and return to Islam.

Can a Muslim come to Christ, sure he can. But we are commanded by Jesus to use discernment, “you will know them by their fruits” (Matt. 7: 16).

But the clincher is in the speech Obama just gave to a group of pastors at the Annual Easter Prayer Breakfast. The key excerpt of that speech is found just two and a half minutes into his talk. Evidently it sounds like most of the pastors missed this heresy as well.

It’s an opportunity for us to reflect on the triumph of the resurrection, and to give thanks for the all-important gift of grace. And for me, and I’m sure for some of you, it’s also a chance to remember the tremendous sacrifice that led up to that day, and all that Christ endured – not just as a Son of God, but as a human being (emphasis mine).

Jesus not “just a son of God.” Jesus is The Only Son of God. Using the indefinite article is not an error. Indeed, it is what all the cults, such as, Jehovah Witnesses do–thereby denying the Deity of Jesus as Messiah.

Paul told his child in Christ and disciple Timothy that God’s Holy Spirit himself says that in the last days some “Christians” will fall away “by means of the hypocrisy of liars” (1 Tim. 4). Paul later said men would hold to a form of godliness even though they denied its power (2 Tim. 3). Peter too wrote that many men “in their greed would exploit you with false words” (2 Peter 2).

The Resurrection is the true confidence for the Christian because

Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection;over these the second death has no power

To my brothers and sisters in Christ I say:

He is risen; He is risen indeed!
